Damian de Muijnck is a Dutch jazz drummer known for his energetic playing, creative approach, and distinctive sound behind the kit. Based in the Netherlands and active across Europe, he has become a familiar presence in the Dutch and international jazz scenes, performing with a wide range of artists including Seamus Blake, Zack Lober, Jasper Blom, Kika Sprangers, Clemens van der Feen, Toms Rudzinskis and many others.

Alongside numerous collaborations, Damian is deeply involved in several long-standing ensembles such as the SeptNoir Trio, the Yannic Forster Trio, the Bram van de Glind Quartet, and the Daniel Sant Quartet. He also leads his own trio and quartet featuring Zack Lober, Marios Charalampous, and Daniel Bulatkin, reflecting his strong focus on musical interaction and long-term artistic development.

In December 2025, Damian released his album Standards With Friends (featuring Bram van de Glind, Zack Lober, and Marios Charalampous). Primarily active in modern jazz contexts, Damian conceived this record as a personal ode to his love for the jazz tradition—revisiting classic repertoire while shaping it through his own contemporary sound. The album was met with strong critical acclaim; Jazzenzo (Cyriel Pluimakers) described it as “one of the strongest Dutch jazz productions of 2025.”

A graduate of the Utrecht Conservatory (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees), Damian studied with and was mentored by drummers such as Friso van Wijck, Joost Kesselaar, Andre Groen, Jamie Peet, Haye Jellema, Mark Guiliana, Kenny Washington, and Dan Weiss. In addition to performing, he teaches at Kunstenhuis Idea and hosts a monthly jam session at Café Tilt in Utrecht, actively contributing to the local jazz community.
